Nurse Practitioners
A Nurse Practitioner is an experienced nurse who has undertaken a specific course of study to enable them to see patients with undiagnosed problems.
They offer a complementary source of health care with an assessment of health care needs.
They can:
- assess you and make a diagnosis
- initiate and review treatment
- order tests and investigations
- give advice on health issues and screening
- refer you on to a doctor or a specialist as appropriate
