What Is Leg Club?
Leg Club is a social club where members who are currently experiencing leg or foot ulcers, or have had an ulcer, can access clinical support to get their leg healed and keep it healed.
During this club, you will have full assessments by trained nurses who have received training and are experienced in wound care and are able to provide evidence-based care and treatment.
There will be volunteers who will be providing social activities and refreshments, where you can engage with other members of the community and have peer support from others who have been in your shoes.
Charities such as Age UK and the social prescribing team will be present to provide social support if needed.
What Is Our Aim?
- To provide best practice
- Multi-disciplinary teamwork
- Shared patient decision-making
- Improving patients’ journey to a healthy leg
- Improve patient social quality of life
